Wireless broadband Trial for Congestion Reduction

In order to try limiting the network congestion, a trial of wireless broadband users is being prepared. The trial involving wireless broadband operators will last for six months and has as its aim a reduction in hold-ups across the internet networks in the UK.

According to a report by Technology Website V3, by running a trial of its members, the Wireless Broadband Alliance (WBA) is looking to find ways of lessening the impact that the numerous mobile devices have on wireless broadband networks.

The rapid growth in the use of smart phones and laptops is likely to put more and more strain on the networks in future. In an interview for V3, Chris Bruce, WBA chairman and chief executive of BT Openzone, declared that the rise in data, especially video, is a great thing for consumers but a real challenge for operators, adding that the trial is meant to make way for firms to reduce the problem by migrating users of data networks.

The WBA is a forum interested in developing a global alliance of wireless providers. Their common efforts and collaboration is expected to deliver reliable and trusted wireless services, and also to improve the users experience with wireless broadband.
