Possible boost for VoIP due to cheap mobile broadband
The fact that in the United Kingdom mobile broadband is actually one of the cheapest places on Earth to get it may mean that VOIP could be in for a hike. This could represent some good advancements for VOIP technology.
Other than the UK, India and France also offer cheap mobile broadband, after ABI published their findings on looking into the costs of mobile broadband throughout the world.
Harnessing the power and cheap cost of mobile broadband and using it to make telephone calls using the same technology that allows laptops and smartphones to get on the internet could mean telephone call prices could be completely slashed.
There have been concerns throughout the mobile broadband community that the more dongles and users, the more chance of strain for the network providers.
There are already limits on data from most major providers, putting a cap on how much data can be 'consumed' in one month, such as 1GB to 10GB depending on the tariff.
The fact that there are caps suggests that going over the limit often occurs, in some cases providers charge for this, in others, they just stop the service to avoid incurring extra charges - this has confused many mobile broadband users and some have suggested to make things crystal clear so no confusion ensuses.
Helping to increase the popularity of the mobile broadband industry, is VoIP, sources have claimed.
