More and more Brits getting online with mobile broadband
According to a recent report, the number of Brits that can be found online has increased by 2 million compared to last year. Many of them are now what is known under the name of 'silver surfers'.
Thanks to increased affordability and higher quality access to mobile broadband, more people are seen to get online than there were a few years ago. Customers find broadband and internet as indispensable to their lives.
It is also claimed that half of those who get online are over 50 years of age and male, according to some figures provided by the UK Online Measurement Company. Indeed, most of these customers consider the Internet part of their life and could hardly live without it now that they have tasted the benefits it can bring.
These figures show that the Internet is not ?youth-centric? as many of us may still believe. It is getting older and older every day and has more and more purposes; this makes it popular with a wider range of customers than years ago.
Some use it to stay in touch with friends, read the news, have some fun, shop online, but others manage their finances via the Internet or access different services.
