Mobile broadband helps people get online on holiday
A survey conducted by a mobile broadband provider on 850 people shows that 94% of Brits are going to access the Internet while they are on holiday this year. It seems that we cannot get away from the Internet even when we are on holidays, far away from home.
Half of the people travelling abroad on holiday in the next months will keep their mobile phones close at hand in order to be able to communicate via the Internet.
This is twice as much as two years ago. There are figures about people who will be visiting Internet cafes (22%), using their laptops and broadband dongles (17%) or relying on WiFi (8%). Only 6% of those interviewed claimed that they would not connect at all during their holidays.
Some sources close to the mobile broadband industry have said that Smart Phones have made it more convenient for travellers to access the Internet while they are overseas.
The fact that few people will not get online proves that we cannot stay away from Twitter, Facebook, news sites and email. This has become part of our daily routine and modern technology helps a lot, and will continue to evolve with the internet.
