LTE Mobile Broadband Trial in Cornwall Soon
An LTE mobile broadband trial is about to be launched by Clear Mobitel in Cornwall. The next generation wireless provider is willing to find solutions to meet the need of consumers for high speed broadband in this area of the UK as well.
According to the company?s spokesperson, the service will operate in the 800MHz frequency band. The speeds expected using the LTE (Long Term Evolution) technology are up to 12 Mbps.
The trial will be run in Caradon Hill, East Cornwall, and its aim is to find out how to use LTE or 4G technology effectively in order to provide high speed internet solutions in a region where ADSL or cable is available at low speeds or completely unavailable.
LTE promises super-fast speed for mobile broadband users. This technology has been created to increase the potential of wireless networks to provide high data traffic and prevent congestion.
Andrew Elston, the Regulatory Affairs Director of Clear Mobitel says that Cornwall is the perfect region for such a trial as well as noting that this particular band (800MHz) isn't really one that is being used to it's full potential - blaming the fact that the transition from analogue to digital television happened years ago.
Starting with September this year, 300 people will be able to access the service with the new devices provided by the company.
