Is the iPad being launched 28th of May?

Does anyone know the official launch date for Apple iPads? It seems some sources are quoting the original launch date of May 28th is still on, however, others are saying due to demand in the US, the UK iPad launch date has been put back to the 7th June.

So who's right? If the 28th May is when iPads go on sale, that's only a few days to go, so those looking to bag an iPad had better hurry up and get one from O2, Vodafone or Orange, where you can order them online and secure your own iPad with mobile broadband.

First let loose in April this year in America, the iPad has proven just how popular it really is with droves of people queing up to buy the latest Apple tablet gadget. Sales have also apparently not slowed down in America, this is the reason some are saying that the ipad launch date in the UK has been delayed because demand in America is so huge.

Orange was the first to hit the ground running offering pre-ordering for the iPad as well as price plans for monthly and payg mobile broadband with the iPad. O2 and Vodafone quickly kept up the pace with their own iPad tariffs launching not so long after Orange's iPad offer.
