Interest in mobile broadband seems to be falling

According to ISP Review, the initial surge in uptake of mobile broadband technology has been slowing down. In spite of many people still buying smartphones, they seem to be starting to lose interest in mobile broadband.

Maybe more and more people are staring to realise that mobile broadband is not so cool after all or any opportunity to switch to another provider and another service pack has brought the sales into decline.

Yet, the above-mentioned publication claims that the service is excellent, especially as a complementary package to fixed line broadband. People still need to connect to the Internet, download stuff, listen to music and even chat while they are on the move.

Some subscribers have experienced certain problems with mobile broadband. One of these, claims ISP Review, translates as a 'performance drain', due to congestion and low revenues.

Maybe this is the reason why many providers do not publicise their mobile broadband download speeds. But this problem will not last for ever; it can be sorted out with the help of upgrades. Sources have said that advancements in mobile broadband technology will be coming very soon, such as 4G mobile broadband.

Surveys show that people are now just as interested in fixed-line broadband options, with 484 million people using them around the world to regularly browse the Internet.
