Choosing the best mobile broadband provider

Latest figures have shown that the average broadband download speed has decreased a bit in the UK in the last month. Since BT and Virgin Media have done their best to install super high speed fibre optic FTTC and FTTH, continuously competing with each other, this is rather weird.

Both these providers are testing 4G connection speed as high as 100 MBPS, according to the general trend to guarantee the perfect Internet speed for the future.

So how did it happen? Why did the average broadband speed drop by .5 MBPS in the UK for Virgin Media customers? Let us remember that Virgin Media is the UK pioneer in the fibre optic technology. Even the ADSL copper line connections register a reduction when the network is taxed.

Recently, Talk Talk has released a home phone service plan offering 24 MB download speed, while the Talk Talk average is only 4 MB. So where does the truth lie? How can you find whether you are using an ADSL copper line connection for broadband?

You can do a home broadband speed test to find out. Most mobile broadband providers offer a speed test or coverage check, all over the UK. Try going to Three, o2, Vodafone, Orange, T-mobile, Virgin Media.
